BIOGRAPHY

Catherine Johnson is a photography and book editor, art producer/art buyer and a branding consultant for artists and events. Beginning her career with legendary British photographer Norman Parkinson as his North American representative, Johnson has worked as a photo researcher for films, major advertising agencies, consumer and trade magazines and as a book and photography editor. She consults with both commercial and fine artists, agents, designers, photographers, and illustrators on creative branding and business development.

She is also an avid collector of photography and is passionate about all things related to historical and contemporary art. Four of her book projects have been published since 2001. The most recent projects are a documentary on the life and work of photographer Karl Bissinger [Link] which will accompany an exhibit of his work, and a book of Bissinger’s unpublished pictures of Haiti taken in 1948.

She volunteers at the National Arts Club in New York City where she serves as the Chairperson of the Photography Committee and served on the Board of Governors from 2006 – 2009.
